You can think what you want about Julian Assange and Wikileaks. You can laugh at the stupidity of the US authorities who put confidential or secret documents in a database that hundreds of thousands of people had access to. But the fun stops when a Swiss state-owned company unnecessarily publicly announces that it is ending its customer relationship with Julian Assange. I also have a postal checking account and I have assumed up until now that this is a matter that only concerns Postfinance and me.

But the US constitutional state can do something very switzerland rcs data different. In a secret trial, the Twitter platform was ordered by a US judge in Virginia to hand over all information about all Twitter accounts that are connected to Wikileaks or named supporters of the whistleblower platform. This includes: real and user names, addresses, private and business emails of these people, telephone numbers, bank account details, etc.

That alone would be frightening enough. But the highlight is yet to come: At the same time, Twitter was prohibited in this so-called subpoena from informing those affected or the public about this order. If you don't believe it, you can view the document here: Subpoena A throwback to the Middle Ages with its royal secret orders against which the subject had no legal recourse. In other words, a throwback to pure arbitrariness. At least Twitter successfully defended itself against the secrecy clause, so the named affected parties could at least be informed, and this document of judicial disgrace also found its way onto the Internet.
