Tailwind for online pharmacies due to Corona

Post by bhasan01854 »

Online pharmacies are experiencing a strong upswing during the Corona pandemic: 62 percent of consumers now usually order medicines from an online pharmacy. This is a slight increase compared to 2020 (58 percent) and a strong increase compared to the pre-Corona period: In 2019, 46 percent said they usually got their medicines from an online pharmacy, while in 2018 the figure was only 33 percent. This is the result of a representative survey commissioned by the digital association Bitkom among 1,157 people in Germany aged 16 and over.

According to the study, not only over-the-counter mexico gambling data drugs but also prescription drugs are ordered online: almost one in four (23 percent) redeems prescriptions at online pharmacies - 61 percent obtain drugs there without a prescription. In addition to pharmacies, online retailers are also experiencing a strong increase in interest in medicines. In 2020, seven percent of people in Germany bought non-prescription drugs from online retailers such as Amazon; currently, the figure is more than twice as high at 15 percent. "Even beyond the restrictions imposed by Corona, there are gaps in medical care, for example in rural areas or for people with limited mobility. Online offers help to close these gaps," explains Bitkom CEO Dr. Bernhard Rohleder.

Buying medicines online is particularly popular among younger people: 79 percent of 16- to 29-year-olds buy medicines online, about the same number of 30- to 49-year-olds (80 percent) and two thirds of 50- to 64-year-olds (66 percent) do so. Among senior citizens aged 65 and over, two out of five (41 percent) order medicines online .

Those who shop at an online pharmacy are largely satisfied or even very satisfied with the selection of medications (94 percent), as well as with the price-performance ratio (88 percent). 84 percent praise the speed of delivery, slightly more than the previous year with 78 percent. However, the advice and information offered by online pharmacies still needs improvement. Here, satisfaction has decreased slightly, from 47 percent in 2020 to 44 percent currently. Three out of ten (30 percent) are not satisfied.
