As you may have already read, Quality Updates (also known as "Core" updates ) are Google algorithmic updates that began between the end of 2016 and the first months of 2017 (with the well-known Fred Update ), when the Penguin Update, which focused mainly on low-quality link building techniques, was also integrated into Google's main algorithm. Today, Quality Updates have the goal of "updating" the SERPs periodically, modifying the ordering of the pages that appear in the SERPs based on a series of ranking signals present in the algorithm .

Whenever there are important Quality Updates, our sites can gain or lose features of our advertising database traffic, depending on how many positions are gained or lost for high-traffic keywords.
lose traffic , there is nothing that can be done to recover them. But maybe that's not exactly the case. My advice is to "fix" your site, with the help of an expert SEO consultant , because even when SEO optimization has been done and you think you've done a good job, there may be some or more problems that can reduce the potential for organic visibility of the site.
Quality Updates today seem to be closely linked to two main factors:
a factor of authority/credibility of the site , probably linked to the quality of the external links acquired;
satisfaction of the Search Intent by the pages of our site.
On this last aspect, it seems that the algorithm now prefers pages that respond to few search intents. This is why, sometimes, the key can be found in understanding what traffic was coming to our pages and what search intents these pages were trying to respond to .
However, recovering from Quality Updates is not impossible and in this article I will tell you about three case studies of websites I have worked on as a consultant, that have grown as a result of new Quality Updates.
