7 tips for the structure of your social organization

Post by Bappy11 »

1. Create an organizational chart with a service area that “gives” to the beneficiaries, and a convening area that “receives” resources from society.

2. Describe each position and its responsibilities. Even if you don't have the philippine pie telegram people yet, describe the positions first, and then select the best people to fill them. Also consider working with people who volunteer.

3. Delegate, encourage people's autonomy and work in a democratic style. But for this to work, there must be clarity about which spaces are for discussion and which are for decision-making. It is the leadership that makes the decisions.

4. The board is the highest authority of the organization. To be effective, it seeks to ensure that its members balance technical, administrative, convening and resource, evaluation, public relations and legal aspects.

5. For the board, look for people who feel a strong commitment to the mission. Make sure they know their tenure and have the time available for it, and that they are clear about what is expected of them.

6. It is recommended that the board of directors not exceed 7 people, and that it be an odd number so that there is no tie in the voting. Alternatively, the vote of the president can count for two.

7. The person who founded the social organization is considered its “alma mater.” They may or may not be part of the board of directors. They are like a two-sided coin: although they are usually the “motor” of the institution, their decisive presence often brings consequences.
