It is clear that the purchasing decisions of the federal, local and state governments have a significant impact on the market and the environment. By making strategic decisions in terms of sustainability, public administration could not only save considerable costs, but also live up to its role model function. In order to achieve a climate-neutral administration, it is essential to make quick and competent decisions and implement the resulting measures. This is the only way to create the basic conditions for technological progress in harmony with the environment. If the federal government fails to create these structures, this will most likely have irreversible damage both to the environment and to credibility. It is important to live up to the responsibility of being a role model for companies and civil society and to show that the issue of sustainability is a high priority in public administration.

In my article " Who am I? Identity verification in transition " I gave an georgia consumer email list overview of the current status of identity verification in connection with digital insurance services. After a good three and a half years, it is worth taking another look at this topic and the current developments. I would therefore like to present to you here how the topic has developed in my opinion.
Recap: Why is identity verification necessary and what procedures are there?
Identity verification is necessary for insurance companies in various processes and with different security level requirements. Legal and security-related framework conditions stipulate that some form of identification or authentication is necessary for every digital interaction between insurance companies and policyholders. The requirement can range from simply knowing the insurance number to identification in accordance with the Money Laundering Act (GwG). In this article, I will focus on the use cases in which a comparison between the identity of the natural person and the data in the insurer's inventory system is necessary. There are also further gradations here.
The basis for most procedures is either the place of residence of the person concerned or an identification document, in Germany usually an identity card or passport.
Procedures are divided into asynchronous procedures (such as identification by an authorized third party, PostIdent or identification via letter PIN) and synchronous procedures (such as VideoIdent, Selfie-Ident and eID).
No genuinely new processes for verifying identity with market relevance in the end customer business have been added in recent years, so I will not go into detail about the processes again here. However, the known processes have been further developed and the distribution of use has changed.
