Cat food Cat food For those of you looking for food for your {=test.text1:cat}
*Title 2 and descriptions have been omitted.
The part enclosed in {} is the ad customizer part. =test.text1 will dynamically insert the ad text (text1) according to the rules registered in the data feed.
If we apply this to the data feed used in the example this time, it will look like this:
◆ Ad copy (title) displayed to users searching for the keyword "kitten food":
→ "For those looking for kitten food"
◆ Ad copy (title) displayed to users searching for marketing with stockholder database the keyword "Munchkin food":
→ "For those looking for Munchkin food"
The :cat part is called the default value. If you use the default value, if the dynamically converted ad text exceeds the display character limit (15 full-width characters), it will automatically be converted to "cat" and displayed.
Now let's consider an example where the default value is used (exceeding the number of characters displayed).
★Example of exceeding the number of characters displayed:
Keyword "+American Shorthair + food", text1: "American Shorthair"
In this case, how do you think the ad copy (title) will be displayed?
→ Ad copy (title) = "For those looking for food for American Shorthairs" (= 23 full-width characters)
A simple conversion would look like this:
The default value will come into effect if the number of characters to be displayed after this replacement exceeds the specifications, and will replace the message with " For those of you who are having trouble finding cat food" and display the message instead (if you do not specify a default value and the number of characters to be displayed exceeds the specifications, the ad will not be displayed!).
If you use the ad customizer to dynamically replace your ad text, be sure to pay attention to the number of characters left after replacement.

For reference, we have also included examples of data feeds and ad copy for cases ② and ③.
Case 2: I want to display different ad copy for each distribution area
Let’s start with the data feed.
Specify the location name in Target Location, create items text1 and text2, and specify text data there. Then specify the target Target Campaign and Target ad group, upload it to the management screen, and you're ready to go.
(If you use data feeds for the entire account, there is no need to specify Target Campaign and Target ad group. Just delete the entire column.)
*By the way, you can download the file containing a list of regions that can be specified in Google Ads from the help page below (clicking the link "Regional Targeting Table" will take you to the download page).

As an aside, when targeting geographically with Google Ads, it is also possible to add "Target Location restriction" as an option to "Target Location".

If you do not specify a "Target Location restriction", your ad will be delivered to "users searching in a specific area or who are interested in a specific area". However, by specifying a "Target Location restriction", your ad will only be delivered to "users searching in a specific area".
