How to visualize what SERPs look like over time
We start by including the target keyword for which we want to carry out the analysis.
To do this, we are going to analyze the keyword “black friday iphone” and see what changes occur in the different SERP modules before and during the period of interest.
To do this, we will rely on two of the blocks shown in the results panel.
We start by looking at the “SERP archive” for mobile.

This functionality allows us to see what the SERPs show, but not only for the current insurance leads for seniors email database period (since we could do that directly in Google), but to see what the results pages looked like at different points in time.
This can be extremely useful when we see that our clicks are showing considerable declines, since changes in the SERP modules may be one of the reasons.

In the image above we see what the SERPs looked like at the beginning of October and then the changes that were made at the end of November (in the middle of Black Friday).
We see how we have gone from a flat SERP, where organic results were shown consecutively, to a more dynamic SERP where the first result is a huge block of news (which takes up a large part of the pie) and a block of related searches after the 6th result.
We find ourselves, therefore, carrying out a strategy for Black Friday in which we manage to reach the top positions during the months leading up to the date and, when the time comes, our results take a backseat, with blocks that reduce our visibility and with which the CTR remains very evenly distributed.
This can give us clues about where to follow our strategy for next Black Friday. We can determine those strategies that we consider most appropriate, such as considering the possibility of contacting certain media to give visibility to our products.

Analyze changes in SERP positions
Another feature that can help us assess what the competition is doing when we see that they are climbing positions abruptly is “Compare SERPS”.
In this case, we will take as an example the change in the first results caused by the leak of the controversial audio recordings of footballer Gerard Piqué.
Using Sistrix we can compare what the main results were before the audios were published and after, to do this we simply have to modify the dates that we see at the top.
Compare Sistrix SERPs
As we can see, the same tool marks a red arrow for those results that have fallen from one period to another, a green arrow for those that have risen, and a grey arrow for those that remain in the same position.
We also find some results that do not have any line. These are those results that did not appear in the top 20 before and that now do. Let's analyze what has happened to those that I have marked in black.
We see how both La Vanguardia and El Confidencial did not appear in the top 20 results before the news of the audios and, on the other hand, Marca has gone from 17th position to 6th, creating for this case, a specific URL for the news with amp version (interesting!).
To get a little more specific, we can analyze the history of these 3 sites for the keyword “gerard pique”, entering in the sistrix search engine: “site, keyword” (for example: elconfidencial.com, gerard pique).
We will be shown a graph showing the evolution of the ranking followed by the set of URLs that have positioned for that keyword over time.
In this way, we can check the movement of URLs that has occurred for the keyword that interests us with its corresponding position and identify the changes that have been implemented in the different landing pages.
