15 things that annoy me on social media

Post by bitheerani319 »

It's no secret that I've had a love-hate relationship with social media since day one . I remember when Facebook came out in the mid-2000s. I was in college and suddenly everyone was talking about this cool new thing by the name of it – a social network, where you follow people, like people, find old friends (why anyone would want that is beyond me to this day), spy on people, text people, and share endless pictures of cats, dogs, kids, and stupid memes.

Those were the days when you were totally cool because you were on australia whatsapp list because all the cool people were on it. The days when the first question they asked you was – are you on Facebook? The days when people were genuinely shocked because, imagine, you didn't have a Facebook profile! The days before those days when you were, like, cool if you weren't on Facebook because it was only for kids and old people.

I didn't have a profile, of course. The idea didn't appeal to me in the slightest, and I didn't want to socialize with people online even less because I don't want to socialize with them offline either. I wasn't interested in other people's statuses, other people's children, or other people's cats. I still don't care about them today.

However, with the development of social networks, even the most persistent ones give in, so as the quality of content increased and Instagram appeared, I also gave in a little and started successfully wasting time on the internet with my phone in my hand and scrolling through feeds and galleries of brands that interest me.

I still have a love-hate relationship with social media, but I'm a little more tolerant of it. I still get mad at myself when I realize I've wasted too much time on Instagram and haven't done anything useful. But I also have a folder full of things I find useful.

Although I have a slightly more lenient view of social media, there is a lot that annoys me, throws me off-guard, and makes me want to leave someone's profile like lightning because I conclude that the person, as well as the content they post, is too stupid for my taste.

These are some of the little things that personally annoy me on social media and make me lose interest in following profiles.

Bloodletting
A while ago, don't ask me how, I found myself on Britney Spears' profile. I hadn't remembered her in years, but I remember her as a very hot girl, in the late 90s or early 2000s when she appeared and swept the scene with her schoolgirl image.

I was a little shocked when I saw a rather neglected 38-year-old woman on her profile who likes to sneer and make faces that are not appropriate for children, let alone serious people. Now, let's be clear... I'm not one of those people who are obsessed with age, who think you have to stop doing something because you're "old" , or who think you have to do something at this age or that.

I don't really like judging others, nor do I often do so, but yes, I was horrified by Britney's pictures, which are full of her gallery.

The super popular Chiara Ferragni, who entertains over 18 million followers with her pictures, also has a gallery full of grimaces. There are forums like Reddit full of threads about her language. Can you believe it? Although I admit, only Gene Simmons has such a language.

These kinds of pictures are not uncommon on Instagram, and Britney and Chiara aren't the only ones who practice them. To my great feminist regret, I see them mostly on the female population, which breaks my heart.

Attitude – I'm too cool for social media
There are people who don't like social media but use it for one reason or another and keep quiet about it. There are people who are super active on social media, posting 15 times a day and never leaving their profiles, but they use those profiles to constantly talk against the same social media they are addicted to.

You know, I'm just here to explain to you how much I hate social media, how stupid it is, how you have to be an idiot with no interest to use it, and that's why I spend every waking moment on it! Not because I love it and because I'm addicted, but to explain to the world that I'm too cool for it.
