10 main UI design trends in 2022

Post by bdjakaria76 »

2021 was an unusual year for designers — the emergence of metaverses caused quite a stir in the industry. Many of the speculations of 2021 became more than just trends — and many of them grew into something new.

1. Minimalism and simplification

The most well-known leading technology companies prefer simple, informative, minimalist interfaces (Revolut, Meta, Oculus, etc.). Year after year, this trend is becoming more widespread, and more and more brands are turning to it.

2. Brutalism and the return of the plane

Another popular trend for 2021. Brutalism seems to have become b2b email list popular as an alternative to designs that are full of gradients, shadows, and smiling 3D characters.

Brutalism is all about flat design, clean lines, contrasting colors, bold typography, and real/live photography. However, this new iteration of Brutalism abandons one of its main defining factors—the lack of a grid. It now uses the remaining features but follows a more standard pattern often found in other design styles.

One of the latest examples of brutalism is the design of Spotify Wrapped's 2021 year-end results.
