What is TCD?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT) is an approach in clinical practice developed for intervention in suicidal and parasuicidal behaviors, especially in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). It was created by the American psychologist Marsha Linehan in 1984, but published later.

As with other currents of the third generation of psychotherapies , DBT is guided by a perspective of attention to the contextual and functional, establishing more flexible, broad strategies in patients, instead of focusing on defined problems.

Despite being a psychotherapeutic approach developed with an emphasis on Borderline Disorder , the model has also been applied to ADHD and depression.
