The value of a fan in numbers
The goal of social shopping is to gain fans. A fan is simply a person who follows the brand via e.g. Facebook. An American study among 20 brands showed that a fan carries more value than just the amount the fan spends.


The moment the visitor becomes a fan (by clicking the Like button), the chance that this fan will make a purchase increases by 51%.
On average, a fan spends 117% more money than a non-fan.
A fan is 41% more likely to recommend the brand or product than a non-fan.
