Post by Bappy11 »

This week in the Infographic Day series : the increasing use of QR codes. The now familiar square blocks are appearing in more and more places: QR codes. They are two-dimensional 'barcodes' that were developed in 1994 by the Japanese organization Denso for identifying car parts. Today they are used by organizations and advertisers in all kinds of communication and advertising.

Queaar created the infographic below about the use of QR codes. The visualization shows that half (56 percent) of the QR codes used can be found on product packaging, followed by magazines (46 percent) and coupons (45 percent). The codes are used least for television advertisements and for outdoor advertising (both 17 percent).

Who is scanning all those QR codes? According to the creators of this visualization, more egypt phone number list women than men scan QR codes. When looking at age, QR codes are most popular among people in the '35-44 years' age category, followed by the '25-34 years' and '45-54 years' categories. The infographic also shows that most QR codes are scanned in the United States and Japan.
