Where are the fans of the Greenbox museum fan page and how do you reach them?
“The 'likes' now hardly come from the Netherlands, but mainly from countries between Tangier in Morocco and Port Darwin in Australia. According to Facebook insights, the museum's fans come from: India 27,637, Indonesia 26,991, Egypt 22,951, Pakistan 21,034, Algeria 13,305, Saudi Arabia 9,206, Morocco 6,056, Tunisia 5,908, Bangladesh 4,664, Palestine 4,277, Iraq 3,268, Jordan 2,275, china phone number list Malaysia 2,118, Sri Lanka 1,615, United States 1,379, Turkey 1,105, Lebanon 740, Thailand 527, Philippines 478, etc. I try to view as many of the profiles as possible, but that only works to a limited extent. In a suburb of Cairo alone, Greenbox Museum has more fans than the Stedelijk Museum worldwide. Young Muslims there generally like the Kaaba and Harry Potter, read the Koran and think that Spiderman should do something about the problems with Israel. The culture of this world is increasingly resembling a big cauldron of stew.”
“Most fans come in through a Facebook ad with a photo of the museum and a text that is apparently liked. In many countries I am still offered for a rock-bottom price – the museum’s budget is not big – and the success lies in the fact that the percentage of people who become fans after clicking on the ad is very high in some countries. Muslims and Hindus in India – you can see that from their surnames – for example, find it very nice and surprising that Saudis do crafts. Libyans, on the other hand, have had enough of the colour green.”
What is your most important advice for people who want to start a business page on Facebook?
“Create a product that people want to sing about, that's my main advice.”
