Many companies rely on technical support to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation. Almost every second company (48 percent) used special software tools for implementation. This is the result of a representative survey of more than 500 companies in Germany.
The majority used software available on the twitter database market that had been adapted for the respective company. A good third (36 percent) stated this. A further 11 percent used standard software tools without individual adaptation and 3 percent of companies had software solutions developed for them. Only 1 percent developed new software themselves for this purpose.
"The extensive documentation and information requirements of the GDPR create a lot of work for companies," says Susanne Dehmel, member of the Bitkom management board. " Software solutions help to efficiently manage the entire data protection management and keep it up to date."
