This week in the Infographic Day series : the current use of social media. In 2011, we made massive use of social media. Both consumers and organizations. But how popular are social media among consumers? And what are they used for? Just before the new year, AdAge took stock of social media use. Based on the collected data, they developed the infographic below.
Unfortunately, the figures are largely from the United States, but that does not make the infographic any less interesting. The creators examine two social media channels: Facebook and Twitter. Facebook has 800 million active users, of which 200 million registered in 2011. If this trend continues, the network will have 1 billion active users by the end of this year!
Twitter is also becoming popular among internet users. The website has 100 million active users. Of the belgium phone number list internet users who have created an account, 40 percent indicate that they do not use Twitter, but use the site to stay informed about what is being said in their timeline. Just over half of the Twitter users have access to the site on their mobile phone. The vast majority indicate that they use Twitter when there is interesting content, such as the latest news. But humor also scores high in getting people to use Twitter.
In addition to figures on the use of Facebook and Twitter, the infographic also includes data on SEO, blogging and mobile marketing. Curious about these figures? Then quickly scroll down to view the infographic Click on the image to enlarge.
