Yes, Google has metrics that map similar things.
John said yes. He said yes, they have metrics that, his exact quote was, "map into similar things." The way I phrased it was that it's something that's at the domain level. It's based on things like link authority, and it's something that's used to understand performance or rank content across a domain. John said yes, they have something like that.


They use it specifically when they discover new content on an existing domain. New content, in some sense, can gain some authority from the domain, and that's part of the reason we thought they australia number data to have something like that, because we've seen the same content perform differently on different sites. We know there's something to it. So yeah, John confirmed that until they develop some of these metrics, when they've seen a little bit of content for a long time, and they might have their own link metrics and usage metrics, in the meantime they might inherit some things from the domain.
