The size of the anchor bolts and the distance between the fastening points are determined based on the slope of the structure, the size of the span and the width of the overhangs. In order to avoid dealing with teeth-grinding calculations, you can use tables from Norwegian engineers, compiled on the basis of many years of practice in low-rise frame construction.


To concrete floors. Anchor bolts for resistance to horizontal loads. Anchor bolts paired with metal corners to resist vertical forces.
To wooden floors. With metal perforated tape and slats nailed to the post and upper floor to resist vertically acting force – winds.
Strengthening the fastening of the gables to the wooden floors against the horizontal load is carried out during the installation of the supports; it is considered that the fasteners installed during the assembly of the frame are quite sufficient.

Before installing the gable overhangs, if they are included in the project, and performing the sheathing, door and window openings are arranged, boxes are constructed in which frames with senegal mobile database sashes will be mounted. If only dormer windows are planned to be installed in a non-residential attic, then holes for their installation can be cut after installing the board sheathing.

Construction of the gable overhang
If a gable overhang is planned to protect the wall from the harmful effects of slanting rain, it is constructed from shortened rafters. The outer rafters are nailed to the vertical supports and the upper crown, strapping or mauerlat, between which a cord is stretched. These mini-rafters are first only baited, after determining their optimal position they are finally fixed. To ensure rigidity, each element of the peculiar canopy is equipped with a rafter leg of the appropriate size.

Ordinary mini-rafters are installed according to the indications of the cords, they are fastened in a similar way. It is not necessary to mount them near each frame post. The distance can be approximately 1 m, because there is no serious snow load on the gable overhangs.
