This type of thermal insulator is universal, is not affected by chemicals and has significant strength indicators. Penoplex is successfully used for insulating foundations, basements and even for creating road surfaces. Many experts are convinced of the high flammability of the material, which is why it is not recommended to use it for thermal insulation of facade planes located above the first floor of the building. In fact, such a limitation is relevant for brands of ordinary EPS, which is really mounted only in the ground or under a layer of concrete coating.
Expert opinion Konstantin Aleksandrovich Ask the expert In order to insulate or finish the facade of the house without risks, the manufacturer recommends using only a special converted type of extruded polystyrene foam, produced under the brand name of the manufacturer "Penoplex Facade". Due to the improved uae mobile database technology, which includes the addition of fire retardants to the composition, the output is an insulating material that is almost non-flammable, but at the same time retains the valuable properties of low thermal conductivity, high strength and moisture absorption.
For proper thermal insulation of walls from the outside, a hybrid method of attaching sheets of material to the building facade is used:
The insulated plane must be cleaned of dust, dirt, chipped plaster and traces of the old coating. All wall defects must be carefully rubbed down using a repair mixture, and then wait until it dries completely.
A deep penetration primer suitable for use with the building material is applied to the wall surface. Betonkontakt is used for concrete walls. Ceresit ST17 or similar compounds are recommended for brick and wooden surfaces.
At the bottom of the base, you need to install the so-called starting strip - a wooden guide that will set the position of the thermal insulation fragments on the wall surface.
To lay extruded polystyrene foam on the wall, a special adhesive composition must be applied. Then the sheets of heat insulation are installed in rows in a horizontal plane. The laying pattern is similar to the formation of brickwork, which is also called "chessboard". In this case, the seams of the first row do not coincide with the next one.
The alignment of the insulation rows is carried out without waiting for the adhesive mass to harden completely. It is carried out using a horizontal level, this helps to minimize the gaps at the joints of the slabs. The final stage is carried out no earlier than three days after the insulator is applied to the adhesive. The sheets of material are additionally secured using special mushroom-shaped dowels. When the adhesive has completely dried, all the gaps and inter-slab joints are closed by blowing in mounting foam or an aerosol material under the Fastfix brand.
