Preparing the solar collector frame for glazing
The polycarbonate sheets in this configuration are joined by overlapping corrugation and glued with clear silicone.
We install supports for glazing. Here we use a thin-walled galvanized metal tube cable conduit. It is necessary to drill a hole in the frame, as in the photo. Glue the groove. By the way, in the photos kazakhstan mobile database of the options for a solar collector on cross-linked polyethylene pipes - everything is done exactly the same as with copper.
A strip of wood should be placed on the frame edge. The height of the strip should correspond to the height of the polycarbonate "wave". Lay the sheet so that the polycarbonate ribs can be hermetically screwed to the frame. The PC is installed on a special wavy strip at the top and bottom, use silicone to seal the seams.
We fix the vertical edge of the corrugation with screws and washers. You can't screw the screws in "to the brim", the whole structure will expand under the influence of temperature and cracks may appear.
Above the polycarbonate sheet, it is necessary to install strips of wood that will press it evenly at the top and bottom. The photo clearly shows what I mean.
Installation of a thermosiphon solar collector
The photo shows the external plumbing details. The tank is located directly behind the wall above the manifold. In cold climates, the pipes must be insulated. A corrugated inlet is provided in case of any movement of the manifold. A drain valve for draining water for the winter.
