Continuing with the work of cultivating our purest traditions, our Founding President Commodore ® JJ GUIRALDES, interested the then National Deputy ALBERTO ALBAMONTE, to institute as NATIONAL GAUCHO DAY, December 6 of each year, anniversary of the first publication of EL GAUCHO MARTÍN FIERRO, thus was born National Law No. 24,303, sanctioned on December 15 and promulgated on the 30th of the same month of the year. - Enthusiastic legislator, when he soaked up the gaucho theme, wrote a book THE GAUCHO, OUR ARCHETYPE.

Conferences, essays, workshops, debates, exhibitions, and other similar shop events will be the always due homage to the gaucho.
The date chosen is due to the fact that, upon his return from exile in Santa Ana do Libramento, our greatest poet returned to Buenos Aires and stayed at the Hotel Argentina, on the corner of 25 de Mayo, Rivadavia, and the then-9 de Julio promenade, where he completed his work El gaucho Martín Fierro. On November 28, 1872, the newspaper La República announced the book, which would be published in December, published by the La Pampa printing press. On December 6, Hernández received the first copies. This is the reason for taking the aforementioned DAY as a reference, the first publication of the immortal text. The Falkland Islands have been part of the area under Spanish jurisdiction since the entry into force of the first international instruments that delimited the "New World" shortly after their discovery in 1942. The Papal Bulls and the Treaty of Tordesillas of 1494 constitute the first instruments that granted Spanish title in accordance with the international law of the time.
