How ready are businesses to exploit the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI)? We asked IT decision-makers how they see AI transforming their business and other industries.

To take the pulse of technology and business trends, Dell Technologies regularly how to get usa whatsapp number surveys 800 information technology decision makers in six countries (US, UK, France, Germany, Brazil and China).

This month, we focus on AI and ask IT decision-makers what their three- to five-year outlook is for AI. The results are in. Here are the findings from Brons Larson, Chief AI Strategist at Dell Technologies.

We just asked decision-makers how AI will revolutionize business in three to five years. What stands out to you most?
That AI is on the cusp of revolutionizing the way we do business, according to IT decision-makers around the world.

For those just starting out, they expect their role to fundamentally change: Nearly three-quarters (71%) believe AI will impact most or everything they do in three to five years. While nearly four in 10 (38 percent) say AI is already part of every interaction they have with technology. Another 37% believe this will be the case in one to two years.

What’s more, nearly half say their business is already making good use of AI, with 48% saying their organization has accelerated data insights with cutting-edge algorithms, and an additional 36% predicting this will happen within the next year or two.

In fact, many expect AI to open the door to extraordinary new opportunities : 38% believe AI has already enabled their organization to overcome human limitations. Another 36% believe this will be possible in the near term. However, they’re probably thinking of “overcoming human limitations” in fairly simple terms, such as AI being able to crunch numbers and find patterns faster than humans. I doubt they’re thinking of artificial general intelligence (AGI) , which is still a ways off, or artificial superintelligence (ASI) , which remains the stuff of science fiction.

They are also optimistic about the potential of AI beyond their four walls: 87% predict that autonomous vehicles will be a reality within three to five years , thanks to AI constantly learning the rules of the road and knowing how to respond to unpredictable human behavior. This timeframe is unrealistic, given the many different obstacles that must first be overcome; however, AI has made self-driving cars a distinct possibility. Meanwhile, 84% expect manufactured products to be assembled by AI-powered robots that make fewer errors.

Taken together, the research points to the perception that companies will strive to solve some of their most pressing problems with AI.
