HTTPS vs HTTP in the top 100,000 domains

Post by Irfanabdulla1111 »

The first thing we did was analyze the top 100,000 domains (using SEMrush ranking) from the US database and we observed that, in the last three years, the use of HTTPS has tripled across the websites analyzed.

To see if the site was on HTTP or HTTPS, we looked at the first URL in the Organic Positions report and saw if "https://" appeared in the results.

This report lists the page's traffic percentage, so the first URL is the page that receives the most organic traffic.

We then repeat this step using historical data for each year.
