We wanted to get in touch with our customers and we prefer to do that where they are. Our experiences in England and Germany have taught us that such a campaign is an effective and valued way to build a community of users on Facebook. Our target group is innovative, strongly online-oriented and active on social media. A campaign like this also appears to significantly increase involvement with a brand like PayPal. The unprecedented growth of our Facebook community in just a few days is proof of that. A prize like the iPad is popular within our target group and that increases the motivation to participate. Absolutely! The main objectives for this campaign are also focused on the long term. This does not mean that it stops with this campaign, but that we continue to interact with our loyal fans. In collaboration between marketing, customer service and our PR agency, we have developed a content strategy. We want to inspire regular customers about topics that interest them. We keep them up to date with the latest gadgets from China and the latest fashion from Milan and New York. We involve all the major brands that are PayPal customers for the latest online offers.

Yes, we have a dedicated social media manager within PayPal Netherlands. Together with customer service and an external PR agency, we have developed the social media strategy and also execute it together.
We will continue to offer our fans interesting information and useful tips for safe and easy payments. Think of offers from webshops, tips on safe worldwide payments, but also new competitions. Facebook is an ideal platform to get in touch with our target group and to experience what moves our target group.
