Slopes, ebbs for PVC windows
Plastic window sills
The ebb is the outer lower part of the window opening. The belgium mobile database rainwater leakage and to protect the house wall from moisture. That is why the ebb should be installed simultaneously with the window installation, without putting it off until later. Somewhat earlier, ebbs were made of galvanized steel, but they were not very durable and quickly lost their appearance due to deformation and corrosion. Currently, ebbs with a plastisol coating are used. They are more rigid, resistant to precipitation and temperature changes, and look much more aesthetically pleasing. In addition, a polyester coating is also used - galvanized steel slopes are painted with a special paint based on 0.5 mm polyester (mostly white). Such a coating does not fade over time, does not crack, and ebbs with such a coating do not rattle during rain.
There are also more expensive aluminum castings made from aluminum strips of millimeter thickness, which are protected on both sides by powder coating.
For balconies and loggias, ebbs are bent taking into account their complex shape.
Installing window sills
The ebb must be installed not end-to-end with the window, but under it, so that water cannot leak under the window frame. The joint between the frame and the ebb must be sealed. From the bottom (invisible to the eye) the ebb is attached to an adhesive base or foamed.
A protective canopy is sometimes installed at the top of a plastic window, which can be made of the same material as the ebb or PVC.
To care for window sills, simply wipe them with a damp cloth.
