As with FAQ schema, HowTo markup offers pros and cons for marketers. Given that rich results take up so much space in the SERPs, it’s a great way to make your listing stand out from the rest. However, if users can get all the information they need from your marked-up content in the search results, this could result in lower clicks to your site, which aligns with Google ’s growth in no-click searches .
When rolling out HowTo markup, it’s important to consider the impact Schema has on your impressions, clicks, and page rankings to ensure Schema is producing positive results for your business. For publishers whose sites rely on advertising revenue, the potential loss in click-through rate may not be worth the added benefit of having HowTo markup in search results.
Considering that nearly every “How To” query generates a featured italy mobile database snippet result, I wanted to see if there was any correlation between implementing HowTo Schema and getting a featured snippet. I performed an analysis of 420 common “how to” queries that currently rank in the featured snippet, and only 3 of those pages were currently using HowTo markup. While this schema type is still relatively new, using HowTo markup is not a prerequisite for getting a featured snippet for a “how to” query.
Q&A mode
Q&A schema is another new schema type, for pages that contain questions and user-submitted answers to those questions. Q&A schema should only be used for pages that have a question as their primary focus — not a variety of different questions. Google also distinguishes between Q&A and FAQ markup in its documentation : If users can’t add their own answers to a question, you should use FAQ markup.
